I have read the article and I have been doing a lot of thinking and Paddy's article has changed nothing to my views. I understand the motivations of having a debate with Marine Le Pen, however I think she is the wrong speaker for three main reasons: her xenophobist views will not encourage the development of tech companies within the world, she has not accomplished anything in her professional career that would make her an inspiring speaker at a Tech event such as the Web Summit, and her hate speeches actually go against the web summit anti-harassment policies.
I also believe that should we have her as a speaker, the organisers should allow for a proper debate with civil society (us) so that we can challenge her and expose our views (The actual format, within Forum, will only be a closed debate that none of us will have access to).

Finally, I see that the Web Summit and Paddy Cosgrave are doing nothing to take responsibility of their choices, on why she would be a good fit for such an event and are badly managing the crisis they have entered (this is now a crisis, Web Summit is trending on twitter for all the wrong reasons, the petition has been signed by 593 people and it's growing), by not only deleting public comments challenging Paddy Cosgrave but also and worse, putting the responsibility of managing this crisis on the Portuguese government.

For all these reasons, I am maintaining the petition to have her removed and I will be forwarding it to the city of Lisbon's press office so they get a sense of all the people not willing to have Marine Le Pen at the Web Summit, and in Lisbon.
