Why won’t he prove to us that his business holdings and financial entanglements won’t influence his decision-making as president? As you know, Trump is the first major presidential nominee to refuse to release his tax returns in 40 years – a disturbing development, particularly as he and his administration are under investigation by the FBI for collusion with Russia to influence the presidential election. Federal agencies are also investigating possible unsavory ties between Trump, his associates and his businesses and the foreign nations he is now negotiating with. Transparency is the key to a strong, healthy and lasting democracy. We can’t let our president get away with hiding his tax returns.
