Why do we want to see Trump's tax returns? Here's one huge reason. President Trump has a very strange affinity for Vladimir Putin. While he has had no qualms threatening and arguing with the leaders of countries like China, Mexico and Australia, he refuses to criticize Putin -- a man who has had opponents and media critics assassinated on a regular basis. Trump has even expressed his admiration for the Russian leader who is hellbent on invading neighboring nations and annexing them! All U.S. security agencies agree that Putin and his cyber-warfare team were behind the hacking of our presidential election. They have also determined that Putin specifically released hacked information that would help his preferred candidate, Donald Trump, win. Over the weekend, CNN reported that U.S. security agencies have partially verified a leaked Trump dossier, which was written by former MI6 agent Christopher Steele. The dossier connects President Trump, as well as some of his current and former team members, with individuals, activities and possible conspiracies with Russia. The dossier, which must be fully verified to ensure its accuracy, indicates that Trump is compromised and yielding to Russian demands. In addition, we learned late last week that Trump's national security adviser, General Michael Flynn, inappropriately discussed Obama's election hacking sanctions with the Russian ambassador before the sanctions had even been imposed on Russia. Flynn told the ambassador that the sanctions could be undone when Trump took office. The whole Trump/Russia/Putin connection smells worse than a rotting fish. This week, please call your Senators and House Representative, and ask them to demand an independent investigation of Trump's ties to Russia and the Russian hacking of our election.
