Oppose Atlas DC Battey …Rome, GA, United States
7 Oct 2025

We're excited to have 320 signatures on our We Say No! petition already! Thank you!

We know that spreading the word about this petition often involves telling friends and families not only about the Battey Complex plans, but about data center growth in general. Because of that, we thought it would take a bit more time to get to this number, but 320 of you have already proven that community members are united in our opposition to this center! And we of course believe there are even more of us that feel this way.

This petition will remain live through the 19-month due diligence period described in the Complex's purchase and sale agreement, and it will be a constant reminder of the public's opposition to this center. We plan to deliver hard copies of the signatures list to the decision makers on a monthly basis, starting next week. We hope this consistent reminder of public opposition will encourage the applicable city leaders to get creative about alternatives to data center development.

It will require a big change from business as usual for them. But that's the point. We must to find a different way than our current course.

Some of us community members are angry. Some of us are scared. Some of us are frustrated. Some of us are hopeful about the level of change we can effect in this moment. However we're feeling, we have the power to do our part -- individually and collectively -- to push back against data center encroachment into our communities and instead create a world that we all want to see.
Let's keep going.
