OPTIMISM - Trust but verify!

New Leaf has posted an updated Community Statement that is much more clear and clearly positive about resolving the Trail Detour issue: https://larsonbeaudry.weebly.com/new-leaf-updated-community-statement.html Let's hope New Leaf's discussions with the City progress well and quickly so we can all celebrate TOGETHER the opening of the new Westside Trail this year! Until then, the New Leaf Detour petition remains open, although I am no longer aggressively soliciting signatures pending what I hope will be a positive outcome for all of us. I also want to take this opportunity to THANK the Friends of the Rail & Trail (FORT), Coastal Rail & Trail, Bike Santa Cruz County, Sierra Club, VAL COLE, MARK MESITI-MILLER, BARRY SCOTT and so many others for pushing the petition out on Nextdoor, Facebook, email and other ways. Thanks to all of them and the signers, too, PLUS THE CITY COUNCIL and CITY & MTC STAFF for providing the leadership and support required for this project.
