PROGRESS!!! But we must remain vigilant . . . . .

Yesterday was a GREAT DAY for Santa Cruz cyclists and pedestrians! First, the City Council received over 2,000 petition signatures and comments (gathered in less than 3 days) showing STRONG SUPPORT for the Westside Trail, and then the Council voted UNANIMOUSLY to keep the trail on schedule for THIS YEAR. Only Greenway and Trail Now, ironically, spoke for delays. Second, NEW LEAF IS COMING AROUND, again! They released a statement and made phone calls commiting to resolve this issue, and we'll HELP HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE for that shared goal. PLEASE keep encouraging your friends and family to SIGN THE PETITION until the NEW LEAF DETOUR is gone for good. The only disappointment of the last couple of days was Greenway writing the City Council saying that our petition was "MEANINGLESS," with other misstatements as well. We showed how 'meaningless' we are! :-) Linked below are the comments I shared with Council on your behalf.
