Today an article published by Barrie 411 shows just how serious the issues are concerning the training and licensing of new drivers. 

We believe the article attached here shows only a small percentage of the issues and we need to continue our efforts that much more. Why was the MTO not on top of these issues already? It is their job to oversee and audit the comercial driver training schools to ensure they are training properly and following the MELT program. The MELT program, which we believe does not cover nearly enough when it comes to training new drivers as it is. The MTO has failed in their mandate to ensure safe and properly trained drivers are licensed and allowed to operate in the province.  The MTO has failed to ensure the vehicles traveling our highways are safe especially when you consider many of the scales and inspection stations within their jurisdiction are rarely operated.
