Friends & New Friends:
Thank you for breathing LIFE into this "project" since my last update. The failure to adequately create healthcare policy for HIV/AIDS since the diseases entered our collective body has been about DISCRIMINATION. It started as discrimination against the LGBTQ community & also IV drug abusers. The discrimination continues today, especially in the South where POC, Transgender Youth & Women are more vulnerable to "information-withholding" that might educate them about the availability of PrEP. And also the chronic discrimination against the poor, middle class & minimally-employed, who cannot afford healthcare insurance.
Below I've posted an article about discrimination against gay men who take PrEP and are denied insurance.
I believe that education, lobbying congress and keeping the stories of those who live with HIV or are at greater risk of contracting HIV in the collective consciousness will save money, lives & create meaningful, healthcare policy change.
Please share and help us reach our next signature goal-- which will trigger emails to congress that we care about affordable healthcare and the failure of healthcare policies that serve ALL Americans.
With love, Will
