We are thrilled to see the support for our petition, We demand that the Welsh Senedd has full control of natural resources in Wales, with nearly 7,000 people having signed it in the first 5 days.

We have followed up the launch of the petition with a day of action by holding two protests, one at Tryweryn and one at Lake Vyrnwy with groups and individuals from across Wales reacting to our call including Bala, Bethesda, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Mochdre, Rhuthun, Tregaron and Merthyr Tydfil.

We are not advocating for ceasing the transfer of utilities from Wales to England, but the decision  on these issues should be made by those elected by the people in Wales to benefit Wales.

We chose Change.Org as a platform as the Senedd Petitions Committee cannot accept petitions pertaining to issues that are not wholly devolved, but we will be working with elected officials to ensure the issue is raised at the Senedd as a matter of urgency as water restrictions are increasing across the UK.

We chose not to use Parliament petitions site due to the attack on devolution we have seen from the UK Government over the last few years including the Internal Market Act, Subsidy Control Bill and the sidelining of Welsh and Scottish Governments in trade negotiations which will negatively affect our agricultural industries.

Rydym wrth ein bodd yn gweld y gefnogaeth i’n deiseb, Rydym yn mynnu bod gan Senedd Cymru reolaeth lawn ar adnoddau naturiol Cymru, gyda bron i 7,000 o bobl wedi’i harwyddo yn y 5 diwrnod cyntaf.

Rydym wedi dilyn lansiad y ddeiseb gyda diwrnod o weithredu trwy gynnal dwy brotest, un yn Nhryweryn ac un ar Lyn Efyrnwy gyda grwpiau ac unigolion o bob rhan o Gymru yn ymateb i’n galwad gan gynnwys Bala, Bethesda, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Mochdre, Rhuthun, Tregaron a Merthyr Tydfil.

Nid ydym yn eiriol dros roi’r gorau i drosglwyddo cyfleustodau o Gymru i Loegr, ond dylai’r penderfyniad ar y materion hyn gael ei wneud gan y rhai a etholwyd gan bobl Cymru er budd Cymru.

Fe wnaethom ddewis Change.Org fel llwyfan gan na all Pwyllgor Deisebau’r Senedd dderbyn deisebau sy’n ymwneud â materion nad ydynt wedi’u datganoli’n gyfan gwbl, ond byddwn yn gweithio gyda swyddogion etholedig i sicrhau bod y mater yn cael ei godi yn y Senedd fel mater o frys fel cyfyngiadau dŵr. yn cynyddu ledled y DU.

Fe wnaethom ddewis peidio â defnyddio safle deisebau’r Senedd DU oherwydd yr ymosodiad ar ddatganoli yr ydym wedi’i weld gan Lywodraeth y DU dros yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf, gan gynnwys Deddf y Farchnad Fewnol, y Bil Rheoli Cymhorthdal ​​ac ymylid Llywodraethau Cymru a’r Alban mewn trafodaethau masnach a fydd yn effeithio’n negyddol ar ein diwydiannau amaethyddol.
