Today, U.S. Senator Franken announces that he will be resigning from the U.S. Senate. For over the last three weeks, Minnesota has been subjected to listening to rounds of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Franken. From the U.S. Senate floor, Franken resigned but in the process he humiliated the women once more by calling them liars. This is just one more indication that Franken resigning (in the coming weeks) is the correct decision for Minnesota. We need to move on and we hope that as the Senator has time to reflect he will understand why the dignity of our U.S. Senate seat needs to be restored. The process now is we wait for MN Gov. Mark Dayton to appoint a replacement. Gov. Dayton said he will do so in the coming weeks. One bit of house keeping: VOICES of Conservative Women is waiting to hit our "Victory" Change.org button until Senator Franken leaves office.
