With high regards and great reverence, we the undersigned organization Anjuman-E-Imamia® and the Residents of Bengaluru City at large and those of Sir Mirza Ismail Nagar (old name Richmond town) in particular, humbly submitted a Memorandum Appeal letter with 9000 signatures in appeal to Rename the forthcoming redline Vellara Junction Metro Station after Sir Mirza Ismail a legendary Diwan of Mysore state on Hosur Road adjacent to Johnson Market (Shanthinagar Constituency ward No:117). Delegation of Anjuman-E-Imamia & Residents of Sir Mirza Ismail Nagar (Richmond Town) met the highly respected Mr Anjum Parwez, Managing Director & CEO of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited on 31st March 2023 at 3.45 p.m. at the BMRCL office Bengaluru City.
Mr Anjum Parwez MD of BMRCL said that he is very much aware of Karnataka's history and the eminent contributions of Sir Mirza Ismail. He further expressed that the choice of renaming a metro station is concluded by the Government of Karnataka. Also, he guaranteed that he will present our notice appeal to the Government after the recently declared Karnataka elections in 2023.
The meeting expectedly finished in somewhere around 20 minutes in which we had the option to depict and present our genuine demand with immense clarity to the respected Managing Director of BMRCL. In addition, as committed, a second follow-up round meeting shall be held after the Karnataka elections in 2023, most probably in the month of June 2023.
Indeed, this gesture would be a fine tribute, a celebration of the man and an acknowledgement of the contribution of an extraordinary statesman and a selfless sincere contributor to India’s development. Sir Mirza Ismail a farsighted Diwan (Prime Minister) of the then princely State of Mysore under the reigns of Maharaja Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV of the Yadu dynasty.
We are bringing this issue to your kind attention with the request that your esteemed self or media organization will highlight these facts so that all concerned will notice it and take timely and prompt action to ensure that the appeal is implemented in letter and spirit.
For any further information and clarification, you may contact the undersigned either by email, phone or in person. Thanking you and looking forward to your kind cooperation.
Yours Sincerely,
Residents of Bengaluru city & AnjumanEImamia
