The conversation around the long term implications of rushed reactions to the threat of Covid19 and the real need for social distance and isolation has begun. Today's opinion piece in The Guardian is on point. Peter Collignon is a professor of infectious disease at Australian National Univeristy Medical School and he discusses finding the right balance between necessary safety measures and essential health issues.
We need this discussion to hit the mainstream because we are facing many months of restrictions to beat this virus and though there is no doubt we must take radical measure, we must find a balance which is sustainable over the long haul.
As we enter week 3 of lockdown the effects of isolation are starting to take their toll. We need to start a broad discussion with the authorities on how to manage essential ocean exercise. Please share the petition and start the discussions in as many places as possible. I'd like to get to at least 500 before presenting this to NSW Police, Waverley and Randwick Councils and the NSW Government.
