Quick Update on 445 Palmer Avenue – Save Rocky Point Gateway / Open Space

I wrote to the Warwick Wildlife & Conservation Commission about wildlife displacement, environmental impacts, loss of mature trees/habitat, wetlands etc.

I urged them to review and oppose the proposed 14 units (or any high-density development) on this sensitive site next to Rocky Point State Park to the Planning Board.

They replied they will take up the issue at their July meeting on Thursday, July 16th at 7:00 PM. Which is Public. At the same address and room that the Planning Board meets.

The June 18th Thursday's Warwick Beacon ran a half page article on the proposal that mentioned our community petition. It reported that the Planning Board has postponed review again of the 14-unit proposal until August 12th.

We continue to push for open space preservation. I’ll send a reminder closer to the July 16th meeting. (Warwick Wildlife)  Please keep sharing the petition! 1,400 and growing!
