Offer free soy milk as a dairy-free alternative in campus cafes

The Issue

Veganism is rapidly increasing in the UK, particularly among university students, meaning the demand for non-dairy alternatives to milk is ever-increasing. Whilst the expanding range of vegan options on Warwick University Campus is a fantastic step in the right direction, the additional cost of choosing dairy-free is unjust. Many other retailers, such as Costa and Starbucks, offer at least one free dairy alternative, namely soy milk. At equal or even less cost to dairy milk, it is reasonable that a free option should be made available at all campus cafes. Similarly, dairy milk is included in the cost of purchasing a drink, a latte for example, so why should consumers be forced to pay more for a different type of milk? We are asking for Warwick Retail to make soy milk a free non-dairy option in order to make dairy milk alternatives more accessible to students.
