The Leave vote of 17,410,742  in the 2016 referendum was the single highest vote for anything in the UK’s political history.  At the subsequent 2017 General Election a further  clear mandate  for Leave was given to Parliament:  more that 85% of votes cast were for a manifesto committing to respect the 2016 referendum result. It is essential that democracy is upheld in the UK and the Referendum result is respected.
