Jennifer Hourihane started this petition to Warrington MBC

Planning has been sought to demolish Delph Livery Yard to build 17 dwellings.

This will result in 70 horses having to be rehomed, some of which are old and cannot be moved and therefore will have to be euthanised.

Delph is a leisure facility for families and people of the Borough. This facility isn't being replaced. Friendships have been built here and could all be destroyed for the sake of 17 homes. There are already several large new build sites in the Warrington area, with over 1000 homes being built, which will already have an impact on supporting facilities such as schools and emergency services.

Not to mention, the yard is on Green Belt land. The trees surrounding the yard have preservation orders and are home to numerous wildlife, including bats and owls, all of them will be disturbed by the development.

The plans are asking the Council to go against the Green Belt regulations and build on the land regardless.  The development is estimated to take 5 years to complete, which will obviously result in construction traffic, noise and disruption to the neighbouring homes.

Please sign our petition to stop the proposed plans and keep ours horses in their homes.
