In 1977, Rankin/Bass Productions created a cartoon adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit". The original soundtrack was released on vinyl that same year. Since then, the soundtrack has never been made available except to people who are expected to pay an unreasonable amount of money for it. This soundtrack has been out of print for years. Warner Brothers now owns this film, along with the entire Rankin/Bass library. It's time for a release on CD and iTunes.
