In 1995, Paul W.S. Anderson directed Mortal Kombat for New Line Cinema. Many regard this as one of the greater video game movies to this day. However, if you look at it with modern eyes, it does feel dated. And if you examine Paul W.S. Anderson's career since then, he has clearly grown as a filmmaker and entertainer. Mortal Kombat is also better than ever. The video games are breaking new ground with visual fidelity and imaginative gore. Wouldn't it be amazing if in our current generation Paul W.S. Anderson was given the chance to reboot a movie that he made over two decades ago?

He is also very accomplished in 3D filmmaking and creating large scale set pieces. Whether you love him or hate him, you can't deny that he gives you a lot of movie for your money. An R-rated Mortal Kombat movie in 3D would be so amazing!

He also made Event Horizon.

In conclusion, this would be a great move in the history of blockbuster filmmaking crossed with generations of fandom. For what Mortal Kombat is and what kind of filmmaker Mr. Anderson has become, it would be such a fun, poetic, and profitable endeavor.
