Thank you to everyone who continues to spread word about our petition to get Google to activate trash mapping. This will create the fastest and easiest ways for us to report litter and hazards wherever we may be, leading to cleaner and safer homes, parks, streets, and oceans. This petition is not the only way that we will ever have the crowd-sourced streaming GLOBAL data we need to tackle the world's runaway trash/pollution problems. We are encouraged by the continued growth of @Litterati and projects like OpenLitterMap, LitterRater, and many more. But this petition is the FASTEST and EASIEST way we have to finally get accurate real-time global trash data. We can't solve humanity's trash problem without this tool! Our petition is full of bold claims, but please take a moment to reflect on the sentence above. It's really true. With more than 2/3 of the world's population expected to live in cities by 2050, we absolutely need to have the majority of the world's population reporting urban litter for immediate cleanup responses. If CleanApp-ing isn't a daily habit for people, we will litterally drown our planet in trash, desensitizing ourselves to the awful reality all around us. When trashscapes become the new norm, humanity is doomed. The United Nations #WorldEnvironmentDay recognizes this. This year, it seeks to raise awareness about runaway single-use plastic use with the meme #BeatPlasticPollution. Of course we applaud the effort. But we've also been vocal in our critique of the UN Environment Program's approach because it fails to acknowledge the ABSOLUTE NECESSITY of global trash data gathering and analytics processes like CleanApp. We can't "cleanup the planet" without mass-scale crowdsourcing & citizenscience programs. As our friends at OpenLitterMap remind us on an almost daily basis: "If cleaning litter is all we do, it's all we'll ever do." In honor of #WorldEnvironmentDay, we went to work hardcore on Twitter, so much so that internal Twitter bots started flagging us as "automated bots" and asking us to verify our humanity every five minutes. As annoying as that is, it also PROVES THAT WE'RE DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN to spread news about BigTech's role in trash-mapping. This also highlights our need for you to please share this petition on your social media feeds, explaining the underlying tactics and strategy of this petition to your friends and families. As you all know, the gains and benefits from this petition are going to flow far and wide. This isn't just some tree-hugging ploy to shift blame for the world's problems onto a single giant corporation. Instead, this petition is a lesson to giant tech companies that BigTech's brightest and most lucrative days are ahead of them. But those bright and lucrative days are only worthwhile if we ALL have clean environments in which to enjoy the brightness and material gains that flow from smart resource use. Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay everyone! Thank you for your continued support. We finally crossed a major milestone of gaining more than 150 supporters. Our growth will only continue to quicken, but we simply cannot do it without your efforts on FB, Instagram, Reddit, and elsewhere. Please share the CleanApp story now so we can get to 200! Thank you, @CleanApp
