Wandsworth Council rang our chair Jon Davis on Friday (22 March) to say that the Castle has been Registered as an Asset of Community Value, foillowing a meeting of the ACV panel on Wednesday.

We expect final confirmation in writing within a day or two.

The Castle has been at the heart of community life in Battersea for hundreds of years. The developer owner has put it up for sale with planning consent. The local community wants the opportunity to ensure that it is preserved as a pub. Registration will ensure that we have a right to bid for the site under the Localism Act before it can be sold on to another developer without our knowledge.
