Thanks so much for signing our petition! Your support is really making an impact. Not only have we reached over 9,000 signatures; we’ve also been talking to a couple of major retailers in the UK about them reviewing their wording. Watch this space for updates!
As well as this, online retailer, Big Green Smile, has changed the labelling on their website from ‘feminine hygiene’ to ‘intimate care’ as a result of the campaign - a great move away from gendered language! While Big Green Smile's new wording may still seem a little indirect, it’s because the section contains more than just period products.
We are really proud of the impact this campaign has had so far, thanks to you!
We still need your help to reach 10,000 signatures and to get supermarkets on board:
- Take a selfie when you see the words “feminine hygiene” or “sanitary products” in your supermarket and share it on your social media with #RenameDontShame. Tag us @natracare and the supermarket you’re in! Remember to wear a mask.
- Share this petition with your friends and family
