Mar 10, 2015 — Today we didn't have exactly the victory we were hoping for, but this compromise will help to ease the pressure of families with extenuating circumstances. Thank you ALL so much for your support, and when I say this could not have happened without each and every one of you, I mean it. We came together and caused a change, even if it wasn't the one we particularly wanted in the first place. I truly can't thank everyone enough; it was your voice and the influence of social media that made all of this happen. The power we have when we come together to fight for a common cause is astounding.

Spring break makeup days cause backlash, ire from Wake parents :: WRAL.com

Wake County parents and students are, once again, upset at a decision by the Wake County Public School System to makeup missed school days due to recent snow storms. More than 7,000 people signed an online petition asking the school system to reconsider using March 23-25, the first three days of the district's spring break, as makeup days.
