I am here to spread awareness of the plastic waste problem. Plastic pollution can afflict land, waterways and oceans. It is estimated that 1.1 to 8.8 million metric tons (MT) of plastic waste enters the ocean from costal communities each year. Plastic waste is getting into our oceans faster than anything now, turtles, dolphins and other marine life are mistaking plastic waste for food. Even seagulls are eating in or feeding it to their young. This is causing death and mass pollution. In only a few years time there is no going back, nothing will help, unless you sign this petition free of charge to get restaurants, supermarkets and other public places to start using recyclable materials. Something as little as switching plastic straws for metal straws, or plastic packaging to a biodegradable packaging such as paper bags, use metal water bottles instead of plastic water bottles. A metal water bottle lasts a lifetime (if you look after it). Metal straws also last a lifetime.
