Public meeting Morra Hall, Oneroa, Thursday 26 November, 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

Hi supporters of freedom to access our coast and democracy.

The Waiheke Collective finally held its 3 day hui at the end of October. The Gulf News of 5 November reported the results as “focus around education, clean water, a circular economy, Ahu Moana,  co-design of a management framework, giving effect to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi,  local decision making and collaboration”.  Vague and not much about marine protection or marine science

Ahu Moana is, unfortunately, still being promoted. In addition to the meeting there will also be an expo 1.30 to 3.30pm in Morra Hall on 26 November. We can only hope this will all provide more clarity on the specifics being proposed.

I urge all Waiheke locals who supported this petition to attend the Morra hall meeting at 5.00pm to respectfully ensure our views on protecting public access to the coast and safeguarding democracy are made clear.
