Last night, Leanna and Myself attended Wagga Wagga City Council meeting to address council in support of Councillor Vanessa Keenan’s Notice of Motion for the introduction of a rebate for the purchase of Reuseable Nappies and Menstrual Products.
We were delighted to receive unanimous support for the motion, with the only exception being Councillor Furnell’s advice that he does not support the implementation of a rebate, but was invested in education and workshops - we knew we weren’t going to win them all over!
So what happens next? Well, WWCC will complete a report which will be done by February of 2021, which could lead to the availability of a rebate as early as 2021/2022 financial year!
