Village Incorporation Bills have been sent to the Governor!

Today, after six months, Senate Bills S7537 and S 7538 were finally sent to Governor Hochul for signature!  Just yesterday, we once again met with her staff to ask that the bills be signed and the exemption for Edgemont be removed (via the process called "chapter amendments").    We need to send additional letters to ask that she sign these two bills into law with the chapter amendment to remove the exemption for petitions started before Jan 1, 2024.

We have partnered with Catskill Mountainkeeper, an environmental advocacy group, who has also been lobbying for passage of these changes to the Village Incorporation process.  They have shared their link to easily send an email to the Governor.  You may edit the text to ask for the removal of the exemption for Edgemont. https://mountainkeeper.good.do/protectthecatskills/statewidevillageincorp/
