Latest update regarding last week’s meeting with City Planning and the Zoning Committee of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The developer has requested and has been GRANTED another public hearing from the Zoning Committee. The date will be Monday, Feb 20, 2017 at 5:30 PM at Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 East 4th Street in the Meeting Chambers. It is our understanding that the developer will continue to request to rezoning on the 6.32 acres on Sharon Lane from R-3 to UR-2. While the developer has submitted new (THIRD REVISION) plans, the primary parameters remain unchanged- and still require UR-2 zoning and violate a 100 feet width per unit established deed restriction. Please continue to HELP FIGHT that UR-2 is an inappropriate designation for our area, which is completely R-3. We would like to see Sharon Lane remain consistent with single family homes. Our goal is for the developer to put forth a plan consistent with R-3 zoning maintaining the established character of Sharon Lane. Please see attached view of the proposed 24 attached homes.
