Not one of our leaders voted to stop the Ban on Flavored Vape Products in Unincorporated areas of Ventura County. They made the the Ban effective on the day they voted. 12/10/19. This means that 42 business owners have products that they were not given 1 day to sell. This could mean 10's of thousands of dollars in inventory that cannot be sold without breaking the law. This is being done in the holiday season by people we elected. Please remember this next time your asked to Vote for who will lead our community based on facts, knowledge with reasonable legislation.
They were made aware of the facts surrounding their taking of Adults rights and the reasons why their legislation would not be effective in achieving the communities goals. Yet they chose to still act in a manner which will not have any meaningful impact on youth access and will do nothing to safeguard our community against the deadly lung disease caused by illicit THC Cartridges that contain Vitamin E Acetate.
Youth will still have access to both Nicotine based flavored e-liquids and deadly illicit THC Vapes laced with this deadly additive via online sales and black market sources. Sources proved to be much more dangerous than Nicotine E-Liquids sold by retailers in our community.
We believe this action is not motivated by concerns for its citizens given the facts and is yet another example of government dictating the behavior of its citizens, even adult citizens.
Please continue to speak out. We will continue to fight and use this petition to fight in our local cities. We will do everything we can to protect Adults rights to access to these harm reduction products while at the same time pushing for reasonable legislation to protect our youth and all of our citizens from black market and counterfeit products that risk our health.
