Dear supporters, 

Thank you for your timely response towards this very important cause in our Nation’s democratic history. 

We want to update you on the progress made. So far.

1. The recently concluded retreat hosted by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Center (PLAC) held to discuss and review the bills being considered by the National Assembly is completed with a positive outcome. 
   
   
2. The bills looking to reserve seats to be contested by only women has now been harmonised to one bill in the upper and lower chambers. Hence the bill is called “Special Seats Bill”. 
   
   
3. To comply with the legislative advocacy messaging, we will be updating our campaign correspondence to reflect these changes. 
   
   
4. The date for the voting of the Special Seats Bill will be announced in coming weeks. There is a progressive agenda as this bill is one of the bills that will be considered for voting on the floor of the house. 
   
   
5. We acknowledge PLAC, Women in Politics Forum, EU SDGN, Hon. Akin Rotimi and HEIR Women Hub for the sustained efforts towards democratic governance in Nigeria. 
   
   

The bill is known as Special Seats Bill. We continue this advocacy messaging.
