PS 150 Tribeca Learning Center is a successful, highly regarded and beloved public elementary school that has resided at 334 Greenwich Street for the past 25 years. Today, its children, teachers and administrators, and families face an uncertain future, because Vornado Realty Trust and Stellar Management, the owners of 334 Greenwich, refuse to extend the school's lease.

Sign our petition to Vornado and Stellar, to keep PS 150 in its home and community.

This is a position that has already been endorsed by our community leaders and elected officials, in recognition of PS 150's integral place within a growing Tribeca, home to an increasing number of families with young children. Though the school is open to all students in New York City's District 2, the majority of students currently enrolled are from the immediate neighborhood – including many children from Independence Plaza. In addition, PS 150 is the founder of Taste of Tribeca, now in its 25th year, which raises funds for students at the school, as well as provides local restaurants and other businesses with an opportunity to expand their customer base in the neighborhood.

Since the successful effort to keep PS 150 open several years ago, this school has been designated a “Blue Ribbon School” by the U.S. Department of Education for its academic excellence. As many residents choose their neighborhood based on the quality of the schools in the area, the loss to Tribeca – and to IPN – caused by the sudden relocation of PS 150 would be immense.

It is our hope that a mutually beneficial solution can be found to keep PS 150 in its current location, and as part of the community that makes Tribeca such a desirable place to live and raise a family.
