ALL people must be treated with dignity and respect. Sheriff Mike Chitwood's recent comments about one of Volusia County's elected female officials was vulgar, disrespectful, and demeaning.

During a Tuesday radio interview Sheriff Mike Chitwood told Marc Bernier  of WNDB, “The only thing she (Deb Denys, Vice Chair, District 3 Rep) knows about policing is where her fur-lined handcuffs are on her headboard," the sheriff said about Denys. "That's what she knows about policing."

This is not how we fix problems in Volusia, nor is it how we expect our elected officials to interact with each other in private or in public, and certainly not during a radio interview. With Chitwood's outlandish comments, there is absolutely noway we can have confidence in him moving forward, he must go! Please help by signing this petition to have Sheirff Mike Chitwood terminated immediately from the position of Volusia County Sheriff.
