I am aware that during the scheduled city council meeting 34 this week, that item 34.5 calls for the consideration of petitions.
I have sought support to halt the raising of the Palestinian flag at city hall on November 17, 2025 with this petition:

For more than three years this flag has symbolized the constant, vitriolic protest of Hamas supporters attacking Toronto’s Jewish community and its institutions. Our streets are blocked, our freedom to wander the city in peace has eroded, and recently the flag is at the centre of constant disruption of Jewish neighbourhoods.
I submit that it has no place in our public spaces, supported by our elected civic representatives. Toronto has become an alien space for far too many of our fellow citizens, and I suggest that further exacerbating a volatile atmosphere is not the role of our public officials or their representatives.
As of 8:30 this morning, the petition has 7,562 signatories.
I am submitting the petition under guidelines indicated under Chapter 27 of the Toronto Municipal Code (section 27-4.12. Public Petitions).
Please consider this to be my submission of the petition and advise me as to any matters or details I should add to this process.
I will provide updates and any other details required or requested by you and your staff, including a complete list of all the signatories.
