Change the name of "Jefferson Davis Highway" - Route 110 (Arlington, VA)

The Issue

In recognition of the tragic events in Charleston, South Carolina that reminded America of the disregard for our history of racism and violence symbolized by the Civil War and the current use of the Confederate stars and bars on the South Carolina state flag, it is time that the Arlington County and the Commonwealth of Virginia rename the "Jefferson Davis" Highway (Route 110).

Please tell local and state elected officials it is time to create a new image for a main road that serves the nations's military headquarters, capital airport and numerous hotels and functions that host Americans from across the country and visitors from around the world.
