A Mystery

On February 5 I received a notice that something had changed on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall page about the proposal to let vet students practice before their fourth year. When I checked the page, I saw that the proposed regulations were scheduled to be released for public comment on February 24. You can imagine my surprise when I heard at the Board of Veterinary Medicine meeting on February 19 that these regulations are still in the Governor’s office and aren’t expected to be released for months. And this was followed by astonishment when I checked the Town Hall page again, and this time there was no reference to a release date for public comment. So what the heck happened? I do not know and cannot even guess. This has only reinforced my impression that I need to watch all of this very, very closely.
