First copy of petition officially delivered to Victorian MP
Aug 31, 2016 — Since having a local win for my daughter to wear pants to school 3 months ago there have been some local issues to sort through naturally. But now it is time to get on with the task of making sure no other girl has to fight to wear pants or shorts to school in Australia.
Last week I attended a gender equality session led by the Victorian Minister for Women - the Hon Fiona Richardson MP. She gratefully received my petition and will look to include my recommendations in the gender equality strategy that will be released in December 2016 for the state of Victoria.
I would like to publicly thank Fiona for accepting the petition and for the opportunity to attend one of the collaborative sessions on gender equality that have been conducted all over Victoria. I left the session feeling hopeful, inspired and validated.
