Kia ora,

Just a quick note to thank you all for you support as last night we hit 10,000 signatures on the petition. It's an incredible achievement for something that we've done without spending a single cent, instead relying on people sharing this with their family, friends, and networks.

We're still no closer to knowing how this will end, with Education Minister Chris Hipkins still considering Victoria University of Wellington's request to change their name, and this week there was a Select Committee hearing on a related Parliamentary petition which was calling for any change to be done via an amendment bill being passed in Parliament.

What's crucial though is that hitting 10,000 signatures reinforces just how overwhelming the opposition to the name change is and why Victoria University of Wellington should not have recommended the change to the Minister, and why Minister Hipkins needs to reject their request.

Thank you again and I'm hopeful that we'll find out what's going to happen sooner rather than later.
