The 5th court appearance on 3 April was dedicated to defence submissions. Lawyers of detainees submitted their notice of defence without having the opportunity to meet or discuss the case with their clients. The Detainees were given the chance to address the court. They denied all the charges and accusations and stressed that all statements obtained from them were made under duress and coercion. They provided details of physical and mental torture and mistreatment they were subjected to while being interrogated by UAE State Security officers and that they were forced to sign documents while blindfolded. The judge order to provid the detainees with pens and papers to write their allegations so it can be included in the case file and adjourned the court until 15 May 2019 for sentencing. After 14 months of arbitrary detention the fate of the detainees remains uncertain. Families of the detainees urge the President of the UAE to immediately release the detainees due to the lack of evidence to justify their continued detention. we need your support to spread the message and share our petition.
عقدت في الثالث من نيسان/ابريل جلسة المحاكمة الخامسة حيث كانت مخصصة للدفاع عن الموقوفين. قدم محامي الدفاع مذكرات الدفاع عن المتهمين من دون الحصول على فرصة الحديث مع موكليهم. أنكر المتهمين التهم الموجهة إليهم جملة و تفصيلا و اعادوا التأكيد خلال الجلسة أن الاعترافات التي أدرجت في ملف الاتهام تم انتزاعها منهم تحت الضغط و التعذيب النفسي و الجسدي. اعاد الموقوفين سرد تفاصيل التعذيب الذي تعرضوا له و بناء عليه امر القاضي بإعطاء المتهمين اوراقا لتدوين مزاعم تعرضهم للتعذيب كي يتم ضمها إلى ملف المحكمة و أرجأ الجلسة إلى تاريخ ١٥ أيار ٢٠١٩ لإصدار الحكم بحقهم. يحيط بهذه القضية الكثير من الشكوك و لا يزال مصير الموقوفين غامضا بانتظار حكم المحكمة. يناشد اهالي الموقوفين رئيس دولة الإمارات الإفراج عن المعتقلين لما تفتقره هذه القضية من أدلة حسية و دامغة تبرر الاستمرار في اعتقالهم.
الرجاء نشر العريضة على اوسع نطاق للمطالبة بالإفراج عن المعتقلين
