George Floyd Protest Demands

The murder of George Floyd by Officer Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis Police Department is one of many injustices that has plagued our nation for far too long. The abuse of unchecked power by law enforcement officers in the United States and the lack of consequence for action can no longer be tolerated. Law enforcement officers are not above the law. They are citizens of these United States and as such they should be subject to the same laws and consequences as every other citizen. I fully support the protests that have occurred in reaction to the murder of George Floyd, however, a protest without a goal cannot be a catalyst for change. Our demand is simple and outlined below.

All 50 states and the District of Columbia shall pass legislation requiring that any time that a law enforcement officer or any agent of the federal, state, county, or municipal governments use lethal force that they shall be immediately taken into custody, jailed, and face a trial by a jury of their peers.
