The Issue

Ballet Classique Solenne is touring Germany as a “young” company with no public history. Its director Alexandru Nihtii  has a long documented background in a Russian touring ballet network and  was listed as a dancer in a 2025 tour that was marketed as a Ukrainian ballet while led by Moscow State Ballet’s own management and artists.

We are asking venues and ticket sellers to ask for transparency, not to cancel anything.

Ballet Classique Solenne is being sold through platforms such as Eventim and Kontramarka. Its website https://www.ballet-solenne.com describes it as “a young ballet company with over ten years of experience.” It doesn’t say who ran that experience, where, or under what name.

The public record shows the following:

A November 2023 partner document (above) names Alexandru Nihtii as “Executive Director” of Royal Classical Ballet. That brand is operated by Rimma Wachsmann of Agenda Production International GmbH in Berlin and Liudmila Titova of Moscow State Ballet.

The website of Royal Classical Ballet, royalclassicalentertainment.com, was in mid October 2026  edited and the image and text content of Rimma Wachsmann under the section 'Partner" was deleted.

Moldovan records (above) show a civic association named “Royal Classical Ballet,” registered in May 2022 and liquidated in August 2025. Alexandru Nihtii administered it.

In Germany, Ballet Classique Solenne is run through a sole proprietorship called “Ballet Production” in Hermeskeil.

Royal Classical Ballet has been reported on by the German daily taz (January 2026). The paper described a pattern of touring ballet brands built on the Moscow State Ballet network, where no Russian origin is shown.

Liudmila Titova, Moscow State Ballet’s director, said in a 2024 Radio Moskvy interview that her company avoids “certain words” when touring abroad.

Public Instagram posts from February 2026 show Nihtii with Moscow State Ballet’s company on tour in Mexico, a few weeks before Solenne’s first public post on 17 March 2026.

The 2025 summer tour in Greece:

In summer 2025, Royal Classical Ballet toured Greece. Greek promotional pages and ticket listings presented it as a Ukrainian ballet. The same listings named Liudmila Titova and Sergei Skvortsov among the lead dancers. Titova is Moscow State Ballet’s director, and Skvortsov has appeared with that company for years. Texts in screenshots have been machine translated for clarity.

Alexandru Nihtii was also named as a dancer on these listings. Four months earlier, in November 2023, a partner document had named him Royal Classical Ballet’s “Executive Director.” Months after the Greek tour, he appeared on tour in Mexico with Moscow State Ballet. In March 2026 he launched Ballet Classique Solenne, which describes itself as a young company with no public history.

A Ukrainian label on a production led by Moscow State Ballet’s own director and lead dancer matters to audiences, particularly those who choose Ukrainian cultural events to show solidarity. We are not claiming any individual personally wrote that marketing. We are asking who approved it, and whether the people now presenting Ballet Classique Solenne can say how the Ukrainian description came about.

A note on the dancers:

Ballet Classique Solenne’s own website lists Ukrainian dancers among the ensemble for its upcoming German tour, alongside dancers from many other countries. We want to be clear that this petition is not directed at the dancers. Many Ukrainian artists have had to rebuild their careers abroad since 2022, and they deserve work and respect. Their presence tells us nothing about the organizers’ motives.

Our concern is about disclosure. A production’s origin and management should be stated openly, so that audiences, and the artists themselves, know who they are working with and under what history. Norwegian public service media NRK reported in 2025 that only 6 of 32 dancers in Grand Ukrainian Ballet, a related touring brand marketed as Ukrainian, were in fact Ukrainian. Ukrainian dancers in the cast cannot substitute for a transparent account of who runs the company.

None of this is a court finding, and nobody named is accused of a crime. But audiences, venues and sponsors may want to know who stands behind a production, especially when similar touring brands have been reported to hide their origins. That is more important now that many people deliberately avoid Russian state-linked cultural events.

We ask:

Ballet Classique Solenne to publish its full history, its legal operator, and its relationship to Royal Classical Ballet and Moscow State Ballet and to explain how Royal Classical Ballet came to be described as Ukrainian on its 2025 Greek tour.

Venues hosting Ballet Classique Solenne to ask for this information and tell audiences what they learn.

Ticket platforms to require organizers to disclose these relationships in their listings.

We are not asking anyone to cancel a performance. We are asking that audiences get honest information before they buy.
