When this petition was started we thought maybe a thousand or so signatures, we are now close to 15,000 - We need a few more people to sign.
Since the last update, we have been speaking with trading standards teams and had further discussions with MPs.
There is a Government Consultation Paper due in June / July 2023, this is unlikely to recommend any changes. If you are older enough, remember all the cigarette campaigns, at least we don't have adverts on TV for vaping.
In previous updates we provided articles from Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England. We actively encourage you to contact your local MPs and your Chief Medical Officers - Only if they see everyone united will they consider changing the rules on vaping.
Please remember this final point - There is a lot of money being made from vaping - both legal and illegal vapes - the shops make money, the distributors make money, criminals making illegal vapes make money and the government earns a lot of VAT revenue from vaping.
It is up to you now:
- Report illegal vaping sales to Trading Standards
- Talk to your children about vaping, normalise it
- Speak to your MP about future health concerns regarding vaping
