Stacey Abrams, recent candidate for Governor of Georgia who delivered the Democratic response to the State of the Union, is scheduled to speak at Vanderbilt on March 19. Click here to ask Stacey Abrams to cancel/defer her visit to Vanderbilt until Chancellor Zeppos tells Prof. McLaughlin that she can keep her job.

Stacey Abrams was invited to campus as part of Chancellor Zeppos’ seminar series. This is the same Nicholas Zeppos currently deciding whether to fire BethAnn McLaughlin. Abrams could have a significant influence on his decision by delaying her visit. Ed Boyden (MIT neuroscientist) was also invited to give a seminar at Vanderbilt. He announced yesterday that he will delay his visit “until this very concerning situation has been addressed.” If more prominent figures refuse to come to Vanderbilt, Chancellor Zeppos will be forced to examine his decision.

Let’s tell Stacey Abrams that accepting Chancellor Zeppos’ invitation sends the message that institutional retaliation against targets of sexual harassment is acceptable. Tweet at @StaceyAbrams today!
