Sad news. Chester, the False Killer Whale who was rescued in August 2015, died last night at the Vancouver Aquarium. You will remember that Chester was rescued with the sole intention of putting him on display if he survived. At no point was Chester ever placed in a rehabilitation program as a possible candidate for a supervised release. The good news is that Chester suffers no more, but Helen remains alone in that whale tank. Chester should be the last cetacean we ever have to see die in Stanley Park. The last cetacean survivor is Helen, the Pacific white-sided dolphin purchased and imported from Japan. Helen should be send to a sanctuary and the Aquarium should shut down those whale tanks forever. We will be posting news articles tomorrow, so please take the time to click on the news links and leave a comment urging the Aquarium to send Helen to a sanctuary and shut down its whale tanks. Let's make Chester's death count! Thank you. Please follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/NoWhalesinCaptivityBC
