Busted! The Vancouver Park Board commissioners have announced that at their Monday night public meeting (please join us May 15th at 7pm) they will enact amendments to the parks control bylaw, which will ban cetacean captivity and shows at the Vancouver Aquarium. The Aquarium's reaction was to deny that they do whale shows!!! The good news is that nobody is buying it and it seems like the Park Board commissioners remain steadfast on ending the cruel practice of keeping whales and dolphins in captivity in Stanley Park. Please join us on Saturday May 13th outside the Vancouver Aquarium (rain or shine) at 11am for our annual EMPTY THE TANKS international protest day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Metro News Canada 'We don't do shows and we never have': Vancouver Aquarium CEO Visitors to the Vancouver Aquarium might beg to disagree, however, particularly since the facility advertises a "Beluga Show" prominently on its website. http://www.metronews.ca/news/vancouver/2017/05/11/we-dont-do-shows-and-we-never-have-vancouver-aquarium-ceo.html
