BREAKING NEWS Marineland loses CAZA accreditation! CAZA (Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums) is really a club of animal abusers that includes the Vancouver Aquarium, not just as a club member, but the Aquarium's Vice-President is on the executive board as well. CAZA accreditation has no bearing on whether Marineland or the Vancouver Aquarium are good or bad animal prisons. CAZA routinely supports its members when facilities are being charged with animal cruelty. It did so with the Greater Vancouver Zoo, Mountain View Conservation, the Bowmanville Zoo and now Marineland in Niagara Falls. CAZA first defended its members, including Marineland - and only after the SPCA laid the charges and CAZA was beginning to look bad for keeping these animal prisons as a members, did CAZA quietly remove their accreditation. THE POINT IS THAT CAZA accreditation is obviously not a good measuring stick for animal welfare. CAZA did It's best to try to green-wash Marineland's image, but in the end, the numerous animal-cruelty charges were just too much, even for CAZA.
