DON'T BE FOOLED! Just because a society is registered as an organization dedicated to conservation, doesn't mean that it is true. Take the Vancouver Aquarium, a commercial operation clearly disguised as a charitable society. Then there's the likes of the unethical aquarium-industry apologist-group misleadingly named the "American Humane" and established to help put a green varnish on animal abusers. Well, not surprisingly, the American Humane is now doing the rounds promoting the Vancouver Aquarium and trying to convince the public, and worse, the Vancouver Park Board Commissioners, that there is merit in the Aquarium's absurd proposal to bring more performing beluga whales into Stanley Park for so called "scientific research". Our greatest concern is that the Park Board commissioners might decide after the Whale Hearings are held on March 8th and 9th, to take the easy way out and abstain from imposing an immediate moratorium on the importation of cetaceans, while accepting the Aquarium's ridiculous plans to spend $20 million on a new beluga tank for 10 years more of whale display. Keep the Park Board Commissioners' feet to the fire and send them a quick e-mail saying - NO NEW WHALES - BAN CAPTIVITY NOW! Park Board Thank you!
