Petition updateNO NEW DOLPHINS - NO NEW WHALES at the Vancouver AquariumVancouver Aquarium trainers and tourists

WHO'S TO BLAME? The Vancouver Aquarium believes that it was either a virus or a toxin that killed the beluga mother and daughter pair. When asked about viruses, the Aquarium explained bird viruses might be a possibility. Hmmm... Wouldn't it make more sense that a diseased human transmitted something to the whales? Especially since trainers and tourists alike handle the dead fish fed to the whales. During "close-encounter programs" kids and adults get to feed, pat and kiss the beluga whales. It seems to us that the Aquarium should be looking into the possibility that a human disease might have been transmitted to the whales kept in such artificial and confined space, and in such close contact with humans.
