Please sign this petition! We were surprised to find that even in the United Arab Emirates, there are folks who oppose the captivity of whales and dolphins at the Vancouver Aquarium! This new petition asks British Columbia's Premier Christy Clark to shut down our local whale; whereas our petition asks the Vancouver Park Board to ban the importation of more whales and dolphins into the Vancouver Aquarium in order to force a phase out of cetacean exhibits. The difference is that although the Park Board is legally able to ban the importation of cetaceans, Premier Clark does not have the power to shut the Aquarium down. However, it is still an important petition and we encourage you to sign it, as the Premier does have the power to stop funneling provincial grants to the Aquarium, money which is currently being used to build more whale tanks at the Vancouver Aquarium. And more whale tanks always means more whales!!! So please sign this petition as it sends a clear message to the Provincial government to stop supporting whale captivity, and the message comes all the way from Dubai! Thank you!
