I will provide more details as soon as I receive them, but here is a summary of the completed feasibility study. The city looked at speeding at over 20 schools in Vancouver for this study. Not surprisingly, Stratford Hall was found to have one of the highest proportions of speeding cars in this cohort. Nine schools, including Stratford Hall, were chosen to be part of a pilot study of traffic calming measures which will include reduced speed limits, improved/increased signage, and physical barriers. Schools on arterials, like Stratford Hall, will have their speed limits reduced to 40 km/h. Schools on collectors will have their speed limits reduced to 30 km/h.
The city is expected to engage with the school regarding this pilot study in late 2022, and this study is expected to be implemented in early 2023.
