This morning, after dropping off my daughter at camp on 3000 Commercial Drive, I used my radar gun to measure some vehicle speeds. The attached image shows my results. In just 5 minutes, I found 36 speeding cars. The average speed of these cars is 58 km/h. These cars are travelling northbound, coming along the curve of the Victoria Diversion. They are less than 100 meters away from the school crosswalk.

Do any of you feel that 58 km/h is an appropriate speed for cars approaching within 100 meters of a school crosswalk?
