A huge thank you to all who made this possible. The 50K signatures wouldn't be possible without every single one of you. You have all supported us with sharing this petition in any way possible.
My goal is currently to try to reach the 100K signature marker, as Steam has an 8 million concurrent user peak*. 100K will show a significant amount of people who are against this new development.
I also want to thank all of you for cooperating with not sending death threats, DDoS attacks, and other unreasonable methods of sending a message, this is a matter we want to resolve as mature people, being immature only weakens our cause.
Modding a game should be a free because the mod author decides to donate his time in creating content for the game they love and the users of said mod can then donate their money to the mod if they so desire. As my friend Dragir has worded this:
"Modders donate their spare time, people donate their spare cash. The choice to do either should never change."
I hope that the 50K marker will get the attention of more people to sign the petition against this act by Valve and Bethesda, and to have this be an example of what can happen if anyone ever puts a paywall on user created content for a game.
I thank you all again for making this possible. With united power we can get Valve and Bethesda to undo this act.
With sincere thanks,
Cyand Wondel a.k.a Seyes17
